THE FUTURE OF SOURCE WATER PROTECTION MODELLING

A 1-day symposium held on November 17, 2014, at the Nottawasaga Inn – Alliston, Ontario

Objective

  • The goal of the one day session will be to discuss ideas and plans for the continued use, management and maintenance of Groundwater and Surface Water models prepared under the Provinces’ Source Water Protection program.  As the first round of Source Protection Planning nears completion within the province this will be an opportune time to engage municipal, conservation authority and provincial agency staff to explore possible directions for these models.  It will be important for Source Protection Committees and Source Protection Authorities to consider the best approach to managing these important capital investments to leverage and maximize their use into the future.
